YRC Worldwide Recognized By CIO Magazine

YRC Worldwide Inc. announced today that it has been named a recipient of the 2006 CIO 100 award. The annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).

"Year after year, the CIO 100 award recipients serve as industry role models for business and IT excellence," said Abbie Lundberg, Editor in Chief of CIO magazine. "This year's winners are particularly remarkable for their ability to translate IT innovation into business value and solid ROI."

"We know that innovative solutions are needed to drive revenue and provide enhanced capability to our customers," said Michael Rapken, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of YRC Worldwide. "Development of the Roadway Corporate Solutions Center application, for which we received this award, presented a challenge that was both technical and cultural in nature. Today, the impact of the program is clear and impressive, demonstrating the value of IT for our customers and our corporation."

"We are honored to receive this recognition again this year," said Bill Zollars, Chairman, President and CEO of YRC Worldwide. "This award validates our continued dedication to finding innovative technology solutions that serve our core purpose of making global commerce work by connecting people, places and information."

The 2006 CIO 100 awards will be presented at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, California, on August 22 at the conclusion of the eighth annual CIO 100 Symposium and Awards Ceremony.
